Wednesdays in November and December

It's time to reserve your spots for Wednesday evenings at the Doubleton Club. Regular games don't require signups, but are much appreciated and help us organize the game so we are able to start on time. If you want a special table or direction, reservations are advised. The game schedule for this month is:
  • November 6, 13, 20 - Regular games
  • November 27 - Thanksgiving Eve: No Game!
  • December 4, 11 - Regular Games
  • December 25 - Christmas Day: No Game!
New: Are you looking for a partner or teammates for the upcoming NABC (November 28 - December 8 in Phoenix)? Would you like to find someone to share a hotel room? Consider using our new "Tournament Partner Request Form" listed in the right-hand menu. Use the form form to post your request. Check the list to see who might be available. Please note that all information posted will be publicly available! Lori and Sue will be monitoring the list, but will not be serving as intermediaries. You are on your own to post requests and contact other players.

Are you a SLOW PLAYER? There is one sure way to improve your tempo. "Play now; talk later." Save your discussions of the hands until the game is over. Talking about a hand at the table doesn't just waste time. (1) If your conversation is overheard by other players, you've violated Law 90 and are subject to procedural penalties. (2) It's possible that one of your comments might be interpreted by an opponent as gloating or insulting, thus violating the ACBL's principle of Active Ethics. (3) Finally, during the heat of the moment, your partner might take one of your comments as criticism. Partners don't play as well after being criticized - and criticism is one sure way to destroy a partnership. Remember, "Play now; talk later."

Reserve (or cancel) your spot: Doubleton Club Reservation Sheet

Do you want to verify your reservation?  Click on the "Automagic List" link. This list updates automatically, although it does take a minute or two, and date tabs at the bottom of the page provide access to the reservations week-by-week. Note that the Automagic List does not include the standing reserved list.

Are you looking for a partner for an upcoming Doubleton Club game? Try our partner request form. Your request will not be visible to anyone but Lori and Sue.  We will try to set you up with the most compatible person possible. The more advanced notice we get, the more likely we are to be able to find a partner.
