Wednesdays in December

It's time to reserve your spots for Wednesday evenings at the Doubleton Club. Regular games don't require signups, but are much appreciated and help us organize the game so we are able to start on time. If you want a special table or direction, reservations are advised. The game schedule for this month is:

• December 18 - STaC - RESERVATIONS REQUIRED!
• December 25 - Christmas Day: No Game!
• January 1 - Yes, there is a game. If you're regulars, let us know if you're not coming.

Reminder: Are you looking for a partner or teammates for an upcoming tournament? Would you like to find someone to share a hotel room? Consider using our "Tournament Partner Request Form" listed in the right-hand menu. Use the form to post your request. Check the list to see who might be available. Please note that all information posted will be publicly available! Lori and Sue will be monitoring the list, but will not be serving as intermediaries. You are on your own to post requests and contact other players.

Are you a SLOW PLAYER? A simple mechanical adjustment is one of the easiest ways to save time at the bridge table. If you are the opening leader, make your lead before writing down the contract in your personal score. If you're the North player, make that lead before entering the contract in the BridgePad. As declarer, it is very irritating to watch a player enter the contract in the BridgePad, and then write the contract in his or her personal score, and then settle back to decide on the opening lead. That's a lot of declarer's - and partner's - thinking time wasted. Make your opening lead first, and then record the contract.
